There are some pretty awful ways to die; being eaten by wasps, being stung to death by angry dogs, being thrown under a moving lawnmower driven by monkeys… But few would be as gruelling and as psychologically excruciating as being locked inside a box and then buried; having only your fingernails and fading air-supply as a means of escape. Which is exactly what happens in Rodrigo Cortés high-concept ‘thriller’ Buried, which sees the wise-cracking, sickeningly buff soon-to-be-putting-on-green-tights-and-playing-the-Green-Lantern Ryan Reynolds plunged [...]
“I had the craziest dream last night that a girl who’s turned into a swan, but her prince falls for the wrong girl & she kills herself.” Black Swan is psychological thriller set around a production of the ballet Swan Lake featuring Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis & Vincent Cassel. The story focuses on the relationship between the White Swan (Odette) & the Black Swan (Odile). Both parts are usually played by the same person in the ballet. The black swan is created by [...]
So, it’s a little under two-weeks until Edgar (‘Spaced / Shaun of the Dead’) Wright unleashes his exceedingly hyper-kenetically-incandescent-y movie adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s super-incredible comic book series; Scott Pilgrim. I probably should have put something on here earlier, but in the spirit of the Mr. Pilgrim and chums I was probably slacking. Or pretending to kick people’s faces in, Manga style… or, just doing something else. Either way, it’s coming, and you probably already knew that. What you [...]

It’s about a girl called Kathy H & her two classmates, their time in a sheltered boarding school & their time together afterwards. There is something not quite right about their lives [...]
Holy sh*t! was my reaction to Jack “300 / Watchmen” Snyder’s first trailer for Sucker Punch, recently unveiled at Comic Con, and I wasn’t even listening with sound. I’m quite a big fan of Snyder, specially after his visually wow-ful big screen creation of The Watchmen; compromising none (or very little) on the graphic violence and multi-layered storyline… I think I actually preferred the ending in the rather, rather than Alan Moore’s graphic novel. And so here’s the first trailer [...]
