Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

So, it’s a little under two-weeks until Edgar (‘Spaced / Shaun of the Dead’) Wright unleashes his exceedingly hyper-kenetically-incandescent-y movie adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s super-incredible comic book series; Scott Pilgrim.

I probably should have put something on here earlier, but in the spirit of the Mr. Pilgrim and chums I was probably slacking. Or pretending to kick people’s faces in, Manga style… or, just doing something else.

Either way, it’s coming, and you probably already knew that. What you didn’t know, perhaps, is that after recently reading the full comic series, I’m so astonishingly geekily excited that my adult in my brain that is trying to stop me from being disappointed is telling me that it’s never going to live up to what I’m hoping for. Unless, it actually did. I waited 3 years for Watchmen to hit the screens and that didn’t let me down, and as the director of Spaced, Wright’s the right choice, right? Of course he is, his name pretty much spells everything out.

Here’s the awesome trailer:

That looks superfandabadosy. This should probably be Michael Cera’s last geek role. He’s kind of saturated the geek market. But what a send off it would be! It looks a lot of fun & I can’t wait for it to come out.

I’m not sure Michael Cera can do anything else than be a geek. Even when’s being Michael Cera he’s a geek. He should do a Dominic Monaghan and shave his head and punch walls.
