Buried – Trailer

There are some pretty awful ways to die; being eaten by wasps, being stung to death by angry dogs, being thrown under a moving lawnmower driven by monkeys…
But few would be as gruelling and as psychologically excruciating as being locked inside a box and then buried; having only your fingernails and fading air-supply as a means of escape.
Which is exactly what happens in Rodrigo Cortés high-concept ‘thriller’ Buried, which sees the wise-cracking, sickeningly buff soon-to-be-putting-on-green-tights-and-playing-the-Green-Lantern Ryan Reynolds plunged six feet under because he drives a truck in Iraq, or something.
Actually, the teaser trailer for Buried (out earlier this year) was more exciting as it showed just… darkness, followed by RR’s panicked voice and then a zippo-lighter *chink* to show, uh-oh, he’d only gone and got himself buried alive, innit. The full trailer (below) is bit less about the reveal, and a bit more about trying to pitch the film as more of a thriller, despite it being a guy trapped in a box for 90 mins.
Even for the less claustrophobic among us, this promises to be a pretty harrowing viewing experience:
